As a member of syndicom, you benefit twice: you strengthen the union while enjoying individual protection, attractive educational opportunities and exclusive discounts!

Who are we and what do we do?

As a trade union, syndicom is committed to good working conditions, fair wages, respect, social security and equity. Negotiating strong collective employment agreements with companies is just one example of how we achieve this. We are campaigning for a socially conscious approach to the digital revolution. We are shaping the way people work.

7 good reasons to become a syndicom member

1. Strengthening the union: your membership counts

By joining, you make the union stronger. The more people we have on board, the better our negotiating position and the better we can address your concerns. Whether it be wage negotiations, implementing fair working conditions (e.g. in the form of collective employment agreements) or preventing discrimination – when you join a trade union, you become part of a bigger collective made stronger with each member.

2. Strengthening your position: protection for you, in case you need it

Joining puts you in a stronger position should you encounter certain problems. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, we will stand by your side in solidarity, providing assistance and advice. Your fate won’t lie in your management’s hands to the same extent (even if your managers are your customers).

3. Protection under employment law: syndicom has your back

As a syndicom member, you will enjoy full protection of your employment rights. That means free advice and legal support in all matters relating to your work, social insurance, or legal disputes with customers. The entire syndicom team will be by your side.

4. Training opportunities: attractive courses under fair conditions

Whether it’s for your career, union activities or your own personal development, our courses can give you up-to-date knowledge and guide you on your journey. Whatever your goal, our range of courses can help you get there. Members may attend one syndicom and Movendo course free per year as well as one Helias course at a discounted price.

5. Multi-legal protection insurance: save money, time and stress

If you find yourself embroiled in a stressful legal dispute, multi-legal protection will provide you with fast, reliable and competent assistance and offer you professional support and advice. Motorist’s and personal legal protection, and even special services for victims of violent crime – all for only CHF 5.80 per month for members and their families.

6. Benefits: enjoy a range of discounts

syndicom members and their families receive various discounts: on Reka checks (7 %), on supplementary insurance by KPT (20 %), at Agip (4.5 Rappen per litre), on the Hotelcard discount card (CHF 65 instead of CHF 95), at Mobiliar (20 %), and at Bank Cler (half price on Maestro and credit cards).

7. Freelance pension fund: the second pillar for our independent members

syndicom’s freelance pension fund offers a bespoke second pillar. It is specifically tailored to the needs of freelancers and the self-employed within the communications and media industries. Simple, no hassle and with generous conditions.

What our members say

I have been a syndicom member for over 20 years. As an employee, but also as a long-term member of the human resources committee, I benefit from competent advice in all matters related to labour and social law. In addition to this, I value the diverse training opportunities on offer, the costs of which are partially covered by syndicom. For me, syndicom has been an incredibly competent and reliable partner. I would recommend that everyone join syndicom!

Lidia Imhof, employee of Swiss Post

syndicom has been a reliable partner for me for two years. As one of the staff representatives in my company, I am in regular contact with syndicom, especially for the purpose of understanding how other Swiss companies handle various issues. In addition to ongoing friendly and productive exchanges of information, I also consider membership a signal more than anything: the more of us there are, the louder our voice will be.

Benjamin Dittes, software engineer

I’m really impressed with the way that we, as illustrators, have a found a framework at syndicom within which the power of the various existing associations and groups can be combined under one umbrella, allowing them to work together collectively to improve working conditions within our profession. As a self-employed member, I also know the value of the legal advice on offer.

Eva Rust, illustrator

I have been working at Swisscom for 6 years. My workload is constantly getting heavier, stress levels are getting higher and the pressure is mounting. syndicom is doing something about it. We need you as a member to help us stand up for ourselves!
