This privacy policy is based on the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA) and – where relevant and applicable – the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The information contained in the syndicom website is made available to the public. Downloading or copying content, images, photos or other data does not imply the transfer of any rights regarding the contents. The copyright and all other rights to the contents, images, photos or other files on the syndicom website are exclusively owned by syndicom or the explicitly named rights holders.

Disclaimer

Although syndicom ensures with due diligence that the information published is correct, it cannot give any guarantee as to the correctness, accuracy, up-to-dateness, reliability or completeness of the content of this information. syndicom explicitly reserves the right to change, delete or temporarily not publish content in whole or in part at any time without notice.

Data transmission via the Internet

The Internet is an open network accessible to everyone and is therefore not considered a secure environment in principle. Although the individual data packets are basically transmitted in encrypted form, this does not apply to the sender and the recipient. Furthermore, it is possible that data is transferred abroad and thus possibly to a country with a lower level of data protection than Switzerland, even if the sender and the recipient are both located in Switzerland. syndicom excludes all liability for the security of data during its transmission via the Internet.

Collection and use of information

When accessing the website, various access data (IP address, date and time of access, name of the file accessed, etc.) are stored. No individual-related evaluations take place. Data is analysed anonymously for statistical purposes, for example to determine how often the website is accessed during the day. If personal data (such as name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) are voluntarily submitted, syndicom may use these data to provide information about services and campaigns. The deletion of personal data can be requested at any time.

These data will be kept strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties unless you consent to it, or if we are required by law to disclose them, or the disclosure serves our legitimate interests in working with third parties who assist us in providing our service or in troubleshooting in case of technical issues.

Cookies

We use cookies to determine the popularity of particular topics and to make our offer as user-friendly as possible. Cookies are small text files that are stored and allow the analysis of your usage behaviour, the range measurement as well as the optimisation of our service. This way, you do not have to log in again each time you visit services that require registration. These text files do not contain any personal data.

You can exclude the use of cookies by deselecting them in your browser settings. However, this may impair the functionality of our services. Access to areas requiring registration is only possible with cookies enabled.

For statistical purposes and for the optimisation of the products, we use the analysis services of Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel. As a matter of principle, no personal data is collected for this purpose. Should this still be necessary, only as much information as is minimally required for the fulfilment of the order will be transmitted. You will find the explanations for these services below.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. («Google»). Google Analytics uses so-called «cookies», which are text files placed on your computer, that help analyse how you are using the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the syndicom website (including the IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the data on Google’s behalf. Google will under no circumstances connect your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may exclude the use of cookies by deselecting them in your browser settings; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use all functions of the website in full. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Google Ads

This website uses Google Ads, an analytics service provided by Google, and a conversion tracking as part of Google Ads. Google Ads stores a cookie for conversion tracking on your computer’s hard drive (a so-called «conversion cookie») when you click on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. When visiting certain pages on our website, Google and we can recognise that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to this page.

The information obtained by the usage of conversion cookies serves to create statistics for Ads customers who use conversion tracking. We learn through these statistics the total number of users who have clicked on a particular ad placed by Google and have accessed a page provided with a conversion tracking tag.

In addition to conversion tracking, we also use the following functions:

  • Remarketing
  • Target groups with common interests
  • Customised target groups with common interests
  • Target groups willing to buy
  • Similar target groups
  • Demographic and geographic targeting

With Google’s remarketing function, we reach users who have previously visited our website. This allows us to present our advertisement to target groups who are already interested in our services. In addition, AdWords further identifies on the basis of user behaviour on websites within Google’s advertising network («Display Network») over the last 30 days, as well as by aid of the contextual search engine, the common interests and characteristics of the users of our website. Based on this information, AdWords then finds for marketing purposes new potential customers whose interests and characteristics are similar to those of our website users. Target-group-specific remarketing is carried out by the combined use of cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.
