Who are we and what do we do?

syndicom is a modern trade union for the communications and media industries. We push for good working conditions, fair wages, respect, social security and equity in 14 sectors. Negotiating strong collective employment agreements with companies is just one example of how we achieve this. We are campaigning for a socially conscious approach to the digital revolution. We are shaping the way people work.

By joining, you make the union stronger. The more people we have on board, the better our negotiating position and the better we can address your concerns. Whether it be wage negotiations, implementing fair working conditions (e.g. in the form of collective employment agreements) or preventing discrimination – when you join a trade union, you become part of a bigger collective made stronger with each member.

If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, we will stand by your side in solidarity, providing assistance and advice. syndicom members and their families receive various discounts: on Reka checks (7 %), on supplementary insurance by KPT (20 %), at Agip (4.5 Rappen per litre), on the Hotelcard discount card (CHF 65 instead of CHF 95), at Mobiliar (20 %), and at Bank Cler (half price on Maestro and credit cards).

7. Freelance pension fund: the second pillar for our independent members

syndicom’s freelance pension fund offers a bespoke second pillar. It is specifically tailored to the needs of freelancers and the self-employed within the communications and media industries. Simple, no hassle and with generous conditions.

How much does membership cost?

The contribution amount depends on your annual income. Special tariffs apply for pensioners, people in education and solidarity members. If you are employed by a company with a collective employment agreement, your solidarity contribution will be deducted from your membership fee. Membership can be cancelled at any time. You can join at the bottom of this page.
